Tonight is the big night for president Donald Trump who is set to deliver the first major speech of his 2nd term. But it's not a 'State of The Union' address. Because it's the first of the new term, it's technically a speech to a 'joint session of Congress'.
"He's only been president for a little over a month" said Robert Charles, who served in the Reagan White House and was the former assistant secretary of state under George H.W. Bush, "But, I will tell you it will be an historic address."
As for what Trump will hit on during his speech? House Speaker Mike Johnson says it will be an opportunity for Trump to share his 'America First Vision' with the nation, including the economy, what's going on with 'DOGE', and the very latest with the Ukraine mineral deal. And according to FOX News Digital, the theme will be the 'Renewal of the American Dream'.
"Talking about trying to restore accountability and trust in government, and the second big thing is talking about international stability and trying to promote peace" Charles told KTRH, "Ultimately, his speech will be I think inspirational, and Democrats will give him no credit."
There's a lot to talk about, and Trump will have a lot to say. The good news is, you can hear live on News Radio 740 KTRH.
"Trump is saying we're done with all the wasting of taxpayer dollars, we're going to fix it" noted Charles, "And I think that's what we're going to hear tonight, that his mission is to fix what is broken in the U.S. government."
Among the guests Trump will have in the audience tonight is Alexis Nungaray, the mother of Jocelyn, who was killed in Houston by two alleged illegal aliens last summer.
