Keeping in line with president Donald Trump's 'America First' agenda, Texas Congressman Chip Roy has joined with Utah Senator Mike Lee, introducing legislation that would withdraw the United States from the United Nations.
"Because honestly, we're not getting our money's worth" Roy said, "In fact, it's the opposite we're funding hostility to our existence."
That's because the U.N. is a far cry from what it used to be. "The United Nations has devolved into a platform for tyrants" Lee said, while also doing nothing for American interests, and becoming anti-Israel with their support for Hamas.
"It's become just a mouthpiece for the radical left to produce a globalist agenda that undermines our national security, and undermines our freedom" Roy told KTRH, "I think the U.N. is beyond redemption, so that's why I think we should get out.."
The U.S. provides more funding to the U.N. than any other country, including a whopping $18 billion in 2022.
"Raising the question of why we're even giving them a dollar, much less $18 billion" noted Roy, "There's a growing understanding and interest among my colleague's in the absurdity that is the United Nations, and why we should not fund it any longer."
Congressman Roy introduced the bill in the House last Friday.
