President Donald Trump on Saturday vowed to continue sweeping the nation for dangerous illegal immigrants and said the US "will not rest" until all Israeli hostages have been returned from Hamas.
As the featured closing speaker at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland, Mr. Trump added that he's ended all of the "so-called diversity, equity and inclusion programs across the entire federal government and the private sector."
"To facilitate the mass removal of criminal aliens I've issued an Executive Order to make available the full capacity of detention. We're going to use Guantanamo Bay, we have a detention facility that's actually massive, no one even knew it exists."
"On day one I ended catch-and-release, I reinstated the remain in Mexico program, and I signed an order that will end Birthright Citizenship for illegal aliens," Trump told a cheering crowd in the city of National Harbor, Maryland, just across the Potomac River from Washington DC.
Trump also recounted how he's fired the heads of some federal agencies, including Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Charles Q. Brown Jr., who Trump wants replaced by retired Air Force Lieutenant General Dan "Razin'" Caine.
And Trump took a moment to denounce what he called "the Green New Scam," which includes mostly renewable energy and related climate change rhetoric.
And he ridiculed a new idea that's being researched, hydrogen fuel for cars, because hydrogen has a reputation for being explosive.
"They said it really works great but when it doesn't work you never find the body. That's a bad sign. You know, when it doesn't work they've found the body in a tree about 250 yards up the road. It's seriously bad. So we'll leave hydrogen out of it for a little while, maybe permanently, I'd say permanently."
