Two teenage girls are now in custody for allegedly planning to carry out a threat at a west Houston school.
According to Spring Branch ISD police, the two students, ages 15 and 16, planned to harm students at Memorial High School by placing pipe bombs throughout the school and shooting students with guns. The girls were arrested within 30 minutes of officers becoming aware of the plan.
The 16-year-old has been charged with third-degree felony terroristic threat charges. She is a 10th grader at Memorial but was attending a separate school in the district for students who fall behind in school.
The 15-year-old has not been charged yet. She is in the custody of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers said there is no longer a threat to the school.
