Houston Violence: Bloody Weekend Kills Three

The Houston area had yet another violent weekend. At least five shootings were reported this past weekend, with three people killed in the process.

Navy-bound Houston man shot while confronting bad guys

One of the fatal shootings occurred early Sunday morning in Midtown Houston. According to police, a man was attempting to break into vehicles when he was confronted by a group of people, including the owner of one of the cars. The situation quickly escalated into a physical altercation, during which the suspect pulled out a gun and started shooting.

Man Shoots up birthday party in Northeast Harris County

Saturday night, in Northeast Harris County, a birthday party took a violent turn when a neighbor, identified as James Thompson, got into an argument with several people at the event. Police say Thompson pulled out a gun and began firing at people in the driveway, hitting the homeowner. Some of the party attendees returned fire, wounding Thompson. Both men will recover. Thompson is facing multiple charges.

Domestic dispute turns violent

In another incident in the city, just before midnight, Saturday, police say a man in his 30s was shot in the stomach by a woman he was dating. Officers arrived to find him conscious and speaking before he was transported to the hospital. His current condition is unknown.

Gas station argument turns deadly

HPD says two men were arguing inside a gas station at the corner of Scott Street and North MacGregor Way. One man who police say appeared to be between age 20-28 pushed another man who appeared to be age 20-24. The man that was pushed then pulled out a gun and shot and killed the other man. 

Police are still looking for suspects in several of these cases.
