Two Teens Charged in Spring Murder, One Was Out on Bond for Other Crimes

A teenager accused of murdering a man in the Spring area last week was out on bond for other previous crimes.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said the alleged shooter, Jerdon Jones, 17, and another suspect, Lloyd Lewis, 18, have both been charged in connection to the shooting death of Jaden Reese. It happened on Hickory Twig Way near Cypresswood Drive at around 2 p.m. Friday, just west of the North Freeway.

Investigators learned through looking at surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses that the teens and the victim had agreed to meet to buy/sell marijuana. HCSO said one man tried to rob another and ended up shooting Reese multiple times. Reese died later at a hospital.

Court documents show that Jones was out on bond for other crimes when the murder took place. Both suspects appeared in court Saturday. Jones was charged with murder and had his bond set at $150,000. Lewis was charged with tampering with evidence and had bond set at $30,000.
