A United Airlines flight leaving George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) Sunday morning had to abort their takeoff due to a "reported engine issue."
According to Melissa Correa, writer for the Houston Airport System, Houston Airports was alerted that the crew of United Airlines Flight 1382 aborted its takeoff just before 8:30 a.m. The flight was set to depart IAH for LaGuardia Airport in New York.
As part of safety protocols, the Houston Fire Department responded to the report. They assisted passengers in getting off the aircraft and say they did not have to put out a fire in connection to the incident. Someone on the plane had told a flight attendant that they believed one of the wings of the plane was on fire.
According to the FAA, 104 passengers and five crewmembers were onboard the plane. HFD reports that no one was injured.
The FAA is now investigating the incident.
