President Donald Trump has made it clear that he wants to overhaul FEMA. But what would that mean for us here in hurricane-prone Texas?
One expert believes it will be a good thing.
"We all know that the federal government hasn't done a very good job of dispersing funds" said Ron Snouffer, owner of the Texas based National Claims Negotiators, "You need boots on the ground to understand what catastrophic events look like, and understand how to disperse all the needs to the home owners."
It's an overhaul that is long overdue.
"Texas would get a nice injection of money, and anything would do a better job than the way this has been run in the past" noted Snouffer, "I really don't think they're going to dismantle it, I think they'll restructure it and get the right people in place."
Right now as it currently operating, FEMA doesn't offer much to home owners, other than the $700 checks.
