ISIS reemergence gives Trump's second term a tough start

The terror attacks on New Year's Day in both New Orleans and Las Vegas have all but confirmed ISIS is back, and they are not messing around again. A total of 15 people are dead with almost 40 others injured in one of the worst attacks on U.S. soil in two decades. Even after being blown away by Donald Trump in their first term, the thorn in the side to the U.S. is still there.

But how, after destroying ISIS, did they come back?

Brett Tolman of Right on Crime tells FOX News that the biggest problem has been an erosion of communication from federal agencies. It has put us in the most dangerous spot we have been in since September 11th, 2001.

"We are back at a point, with great deterioration from the Biden Administration, to an FBI that has turned its priorities against its own citizen's," he says.

The FBI at the beginning claimed none of these incidents were terror attacks and beat that drum up into January 2nd. But anyone with two eyes can figure out this was blatant terrorism, especially when you factor in the ISIS flag found on the truck in New Orleans.

But the distrust of the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and all the other agencies has not just hurt Americans. It has thwarted the ability of law enforcement to counter these radical movements.

"That affects local officers, and their confidence the information they give to the Feds will actually be used," says Tolman. We have that breakdown again, and we better fix it, or we will not be on top of these kinds of attacks."

Fixing the problem is easier said than done. The Biden Administration has worn down that truth to its lowest recorded levels. The FBI has been seen has a DEI hire joke of an agency all during the Biden term.

But January 20th will be a good steppingstone to legitimacy, according to Florida Senator Rick Scott.

"We have to get his team in place, because something needs to change. The American public has lost complete trust in their Federal Government," he says.

Scott says recess appointments might be necessary to get his team into place quicker and take on this problem head on.

Regardless, Trump now faces ISIS again, in a more confident state than they were in 2018. Brett Tolman adds that events like New Year's will only radicalize and encourage more extremists.
