Even some Democrats are starting to realize that Americans want to see some real change from the government, and they're getting behind Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy's Department of Government Efficiency (D.O.G.E.). Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) might be one of those Democrats.
Conservative activist and founder of the Texas Youth Summit, Christian Collins, said about Fetterman, "I think he's someone that could work well with Republicans and prioritize this D.O.G.E. effort to cut spending and balance the budget."
Collins says this support that's coming out of the Democrat caucus is a good sign because, as the recent budget battle proved, no major reform will get through Congress without Democrat support. He said both sides will need to negotiate because, "There will need to be cuts to both Democrat priorities and Republican priorities if we're going to fulfill the mission of D.O.G.E."
He pointed out that even Senator Bernie Sanders has voiced some support for cuts to things like excessive military spending, which has tended to be a red line for Republicans in years past.
If a good deal can be cut with Democrats, however, it might be worth it in the long run. Collins said, "Democrat cooperation with D.O.G.E. could lead to a reduction in our deficit, hopefully we balance the budget so there isn't a deficit, and we stop the ballooning of the national debt."
Collins also noted that certain Democrats voicing support for D.O.G.E. might also be a good sign for Trump's cabinet nominees, some of whom have already picked up the support of John Fetterman.
