With Biden using his last few weeks in office to sell the border wall and empty out death row, it's starting to look like Biden is just trying to cause as much trouble as he can before Trump takes office. The good news is, Trump should be able to correct most of this pretty quickly.
Political analyst Ed Brodow thinks we could see these corrections come on day one of Trump's administration. He said, "Trump can reverse Biden's executive orders; the destructive things Biden did will be turned around very, very quickly."
But of course, Brodow points out that these decisions might not be coming from Biden at all, but rather from his staffers and officials. He said, "Did Biden make the decision about the border wall, or was it the people behind him? We don't really know, but I think the answer has turned out to be, no, he's not really in charge."
He says those people are the 'deep state' that Trump should focus on dismantling. He said, "All that I can hope for is that Trump will be able to put the brakes on the deep state. The unelected bureaucrats who are running the country into the ground."
The bad news is that even after the Biden administration is long gone, many of these staffers and officials will likely continue to work for other Democrats and be part of future administrations, meaning their influence on public policy may never fully go away.
