One Texas School District Actually Removed The Bible From School Libraries

What if we told you that Bible's are being pulled from school libraries...in Texas! It's actually happening in the Canyon ISD up in the Panhandle. Officials are doing so under the guise of House Bill 900, which prohibits sexually explicit books.

"It has been a political hot potato" said Erin Anderson, senior reporter with Texas Scorecard, "And one of the arguments that came up quite often was, that there's a lot of sexual content in the Bible."

Needless to say, the removal of the Bible's has not gone over well with local parents.

"They have made the request that the Bible's be placed back in the school libraries" Anderson told KTRH, "We don't have a resolution yet."

If the correct resolution does not happen, and the Bible's aren't brought back, it might be up to Texas lawmakers to redefine the bill during the upcoming session, to ensure that Bible's are not taken away.

In the meantime, the parents are awaiting a response and decision, from the Canyon ISD Superintendent.
