For over a week now, mystery drones have been spotted across the United States, primarily in Northeastern states like New York and New Jersey. The White House says that these drones aren't a threat, but Congress isn't convinced.
Texas Congressman Michael McCaul said yesterday that he thinks at least some of these mystery drones are spy drones. He told reporters, "I was with the NASA administrator, Bill Nelson; he said that these drones have been reported over military sites, military bases. I would not think those are friendly. I would think those are adversarial."
He says that even Congress isn't really getting firm answers. He said, "We want answers, but the response I’m getting is ‘We don’t know whose drones these are.'"
President-elect Trump has also spoken out about the drones, saying that military officials may know more about what's going on than they've let on. He said during a press conference at Mar-a-Lago, "Something strange is going on, and for some reason they don't want to tell the people."
Trump also posted to his social media platform, Truth Social, saying, "Mystery drone sightings all over the country. Can this really be happening without our government's knowledge? I don’t think so!"
