After facing a Friday deadline to fund the government, and avoid a shutdown, lawmakers in Washington DC have agreed to a stopgap bill to extend the deadline.
The new deal funds the government through March 14th, extending the deadline from December 20th.
The decision buys time for the next Congress and incoming President Donald Trump to work out how the government should be funded for the incoming year.
The deal features some agreements like a one-year farm bill extension, $30 billion in economic assistance for farmers, and $100 billion in disaster relief.
