A person of interest has been arrested in connection with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson last Wednesday.
26-year-old Luigi Mangione was arrested in Altoona, Pennsylvania, after he was spotted by an employee at a local McDonald's. NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tish said in a press conference, "Responding officers questioned the suspect, who was acting suspiciously and was carrying multiple fraudulent IDs, as well as a U.S. passport."
Tisch said the officers also recovered a firearm, a suppressor, and multiple items of clothing, including a mask, that matched those used during the murder. A manifesto was also found.
NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny said that it didn't contain any specific threats to other people, but, "it does seem that he has some ill will toward corporate America."
