ConocoPhillips Buys Up Marathon Oil Corp. What Does It Mean For Houston?

Last week ConocoPhillips completed it's purchase of Marathon Oil Corporation, and many are wondering what does that mean for workers here in Houston?

"To be honest with you, when you look at ConocoPhillips and you look at Marathon, there's a lot of synergies that are already built in" said Phil Flynn, senior market analyst at the Price Futures Group, as well as a FOX News contributor, "Really, it's the best for both companies."
But it hasn't been best for all employees. There have already been layoffs, and there are concerns that more could be coming.

"Really, it's going to be some of the back office and legal jobs, and marketing" Flynn told KTRH, "That's where we may see some job losses, but I think the production side, the refining side, they're going to need all hands on deck."

All for what he expects will be a big "energy boom" when Trump returns to the White House.
