In case you missed it, Conroe conservatives completed a historic sweep in last weeks ISD elections. Four more conservative moms were elected to the Conroe school board, including Marianne Horton who won the Board of Trustee's Position 7.
"I think this a big moment for parents in our district to get more involved in their children's education" Horton said, "And also for teachers and educators."
Marianne Horton will be joined by Melissa Semmler, who won Position 6, giving Conroe ISD the first fully conservative school board in the state of Texas.
"I would love to see that happen in other districts" Semmler told KTRH, "Where the public wakes up and sees the good that we're able to do. We can serve as a model in our districts."
A model that was started two years ago, when 3 other conservative mom's led by Misty Odenweller, won their elections.
"This is quite surreal" Odenweller said to KTRH, "It's an overwhelming honor to have been a part of the leading up to his moment. The election was a mandate from the community for they are looking to see moving forward."
And what we will all get to see, is the first all female school board in Texas history.
