Texas has been fighting hard against Washington for four years, so what can we expect from DC after Trump comes back into power? For starters, Texas will now be able to work with the federal government, instead of against it.
Texas Public Policy Foundation CEO Greg Sindelar told KTRH, "Texas can finally get things done without federal authorities trying to stop us." He said, "The President has talked a lot about this commission he wants to do with Elon Musk, getting government, and the regulatory environment out of the way."
This essentially means that the infamously independent-minded Lone Star State will once again be able to govern itself. Sindelar said, "I'm really excited about that because I think that there's a lot of things that Texas has wanted to do that they haven't been able to do due to the federal government. Or at least, the federal government trying to stop them."
Sindelar says that you can expect to see some major changes when it comes to border policy, as well as energy policy. He thinks those changes will come both in the form of day-one executive orders, as well as legislation from the new Republican Congress.
