Texas DPS Troopers Anticipate Surge At Southern Border After Election

It's possible there will be another surge of migrants at the southern border following the election.

Among the group includes “special interest” illegal aliens whom the U.S. Department of Homeland Security considers to be potential national security threats.

Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Lt. Chris Olivarez said state law enforcement is ready for a large group of illegal aliens who are set to cross the border.

“We’re closely monitoring, there’s tens of thousands of immigrants right now waiting in southern Mexico, just waiting to see what’s going to happen,” Lt. Olivarez said. "In Texas, we're ready."

Olivarez said Texas will continue to hold the line at the southern border and further commit to Operation Lone Star.

Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
