An man in the U.S. illegally is arrested for allegedly wielding around a hammer and threatening to kill his boss.
Friendswood Police say the incident happened in Friendswood on Friday at around 3 p.m. Officers later identified the man as Kevin Ponce.
A woman told officers that Ponce was a day laborer working for a landscaper. At one point, while Ponce was cutting her lawn, he began waving around a hammer and threatened the woman's landscaper. The incident likely stemmed from a dispute over payment.
Ponce was charged with aggravated assault and also faces a separate charge for refusing to identify himself to police. According to the Friendswood Police Department, Ponce has warrants in Harris and Dallas counties. ICE also has put a hold on him.
Local TV reports did not refer to the man as an illegal alien and instead called him a 'day laborer.'
