Just as predicted, power companies are taking control of internet-enabled thermostats and turning down people's AC to save power. Rather than generate enough power to meet demand, they'll just make you use less.

Marc Morano with The Climate Depot told KTRH, "They can't produce more energy because, 'the climate and the earth can't handle it.' We are just pawns in this game of ideological capture."

Right now many of these programs are optional, but they could become mandatory soon.

Morano says the truth is, this is just another way for the government to slowly start controlling you. He said, "Throughout Europe, cities are passing ordinances requiring air conditioners to be set no lower than 79 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer. You can't make your places cooler."

Morano also noted that in many parts of America, people are already starting to accept these measures as the new norm.
