Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has revealed in a public letter to Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe that the Secret Service told local law enforcement they would secure the building later used as a vantage point by Thomas Matthew Crooks to fire on former President Donald Trump.
Fox News Digital reports that Butler County law enforcement repeatedly voiced concerns about the AGR building to the Secret Service during a walkthrough of the event space on July 11th. Sen. Grassley now wants to know if that's true, and if so, what the Secret Service did to secure the building.
In his letter, Grassley also criticized the Secret Service for stonewalling congressional investigations and refusing to respond to requests from his office for more information. Grassley says this behavior "flies in the face" of Rowe's own congressional testimony about responding to Congress.
