Criminals have been pouring across the border for nearly four years, and as a result, the Venezuelan gang Tren De Aragua has taken root in the United States. They started as just another prison gang but have since expanded.
Simon Hankinson with the Heritage Foundation told KTRH, "They're present, as far as we can tell, in Colombia, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, Brazil, and almost certainly Mexico." And now, they're here in the U.S. as well.
Hankinson says the gang has spread into multiple cities in America. He said, "There have been crimes committed by people who are either members of Tren De Aragua or suspects, in Athens, Georgia, in Chicago, in Dallas, in Denver, and on and on."
Hankinson says they cross the border with fake identities and commit various crimes once they're here.
