Last week's firing of Barbie Robinson, the top health official in Harris County is heading towards a criminal investigation, with more details courtesy of Holly Hansen of The Texan.
As reported in The Texan, it turns out that not only are there serious questions about Robinson's contract with DEMA, which is back in California where Robinson was hired from, Hansen also learned that Robinson was double-dipping by working for a county in Arizona at the same time.
"Barbie Robinson was actually also working for Yuba County, Arizona at the same time she was working for Harris County" Hansen said, "And this was part of the reason she was fired last Friday."
It's just the latest scandal, under local Harris County Democrats.
"Barbie Robinson was possibly recruited by Commissioner Rodney Ellis, but also very much supported by County Judge Lina Hidalgo" Hansen told KTRH, "And it turns out, that there may in fact be a criminal investigation underway."
Reportedly, there are items and positions in the contract to be paid, that don't exist.
"There were found to be billing for positions that were not listed, they even found employees there that could not verify that these positions even existed."
Hansen adds that up to a dozen people could ultimately be charged, in this latest corruption scandal.
