It sounds like Déjà vu again in Harris County.
According to reports there are questions being raised about a California firm landing a $6 million 9-1-1 deal; similar to the Covid bid rigging scheme that got three of Judge Lina Hidalgo's staffers indicted.
"This whole process reeks. It's an individual bringing a California company here at the expense of a Texas company, It seems like the process was at best fatally flawed, and at worst full of corruption," attorney Jared Woodfill says.
DEMA Consulting and Management came to Texas in 2021from California after Sonoma County's top health official Barbie Robinson, took a similar job in Harris County. The company is in the middle of a billing scandal in California totaling $11M.
