Magnolia ISD Backs Down, Allows USA Football Game Theme

Patriotism in our public schools is still a problem, even here in Texas. As noted in Texas Scorecard, Magnolia High School administrators wanted to ban pro-USA themed nights during football games, claiming that they would be "too political".

"It's sad that in this day and time that when somebody wants to be patriotic, they're shut down" said attorney, David Starnes, "I mean that is just absolutely ludicrous that we would face that in 2024."

Thankfully, some Magnolia H.S. parents pushed back, and the Magnolia ISD backed down.

"That's what we need our parents to do, sound the alarm when things get crossed over the line and they get into intrusion, rather than policy" Starnes told KTRH, "And that's all this was."

The district did indeed back down, and is now allowing a USA-themed night.
