Kamala's economic pitch is "phony"

A lot of the policies Americans care about are still unknown with Vice President Kamala Harris.

It's been more than three weeks now too since Harris has given a formal press conference or answered meaningful questions from the media. So far, what we do know from her, are things she's stolen from the other candidate.

She's taking some ideas that have gained a lot of positive attention from former President Donald Trump and mentioning them to her supporters. Most notably, a policy of no tax on tips for workers in the service industry.

The hypocrisy is showing though. Harris was the tiebreaking vote to pass the Inflation Reduction Act in 2022, leading to tens of thousands more IRS agents being hired to go after people who did not pay taxes on tips. The Biden-Harris White House claimed the 80,000 additional IRS agents were going after billionaires, even though the country only has around 800 billionaires.

There was also the creation of the IRS service industry tip reporting program.

Deputy Editor at the American Thinker Monica Showalter called Harris "phony" for telling supporters at a Nevada rally that she wouldn't tax their tips after what she ended up doing a few years back with the misnamed Inflation Reduction Act.

"This incident with no tax on tips, she created the problem in the first place and that is the ultimate phony measure," said Showalter.

Showalter said Harris has no real economic program other than socialism.

"She wants to have the government spend more and create more inflation, although she doesn't understand that dynamic," Showalter said.

The root of the problems tend to go back to massive government overspending and taxation which create the inflation. Harris doesn't understand that, according to Showalter.

"Her inflation stance is bad, she's going to drive the deficit and the debt up anymore," said Showalter. "She doesn't understand the root of anything."
