The Texas Trump Train Rally has begun.
Supporters of former President Donald Trump will convene to Zapata Saturday afternoon for a rally and to hear from multiple different local and state officials and candidates for public office. All "Trump Trains" are meeting at Zapata Fairgrounds.
It's seen as a chance for Trump fans in South Texas to show their support and understand the vision he has for America in 2025 and beyond. Organizers of the event say it "promises to be the biggest rally in history."
Steve Munisteri, Senior Advisor to Governor Greg Abbott, said Trump has done very well as a Republican in South Texas. He's hoping that support will build with this rally.
"This is a way to build on that momentum and show how much support he has in South Texas," Munisteri said.
The keynote speaker will be Michael Whatley, Chairman of the Republican National Committee. Some of the other notable speakers at the rally are Republican Party of Texas Chairman Abraham George and Vice-Chairwoman D’rinda Randall. Munisteri is also slated to speak.
