The left has a long history of supporting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), going back to before the 2020 campaign. Joe Biden himself pledged to pick his VP and Supreme Court nominees based on race and gender.
During the 2020 primaries, Biden said, "My administration will look like the country, and I commit that I will in fact appoint a, pick a woman to be vice president." In that same debate, Biden pledged to appoint a Black woman to the Supreme Court.
Nowadays, if you point out that Kamala Harris is in fact a DEI hire, the left will seek to label you a racist. So why are Democrats now trying to backtrack on their support for DEI? RNC Committeeman Dr. Robin Armstrong says, "The whole DEI argument is getting us people who are less qualified. And they recognize that the American people recognize that."
Armstrong says don't be fooled though. The Democrats aren't throwing DEI away, they're just going to rebrand it, and keep pushing it on the American people.
