After a nearly global outage of many Microsoft business products, everything from airports to TV news stations were shut down. A cyber attack could be even worse. The Cloudstrike error that shut down the planet showed us just how vulnerable we really are.
Cyber security expert Matt Malone told KTRH, "Our infrastructure is aging. Organizations are not putting the resources and the money into protecting their technology the way that they're supposed to."
Malone says, thankfully, this might be a wake-up call for the entire world. He said, "We are going to go fix a lot of these things. It's going to be, unfortunately, a knee-jerk reaction after something that kind of crippled the nation, but at least it's going to happen."
He says that at the end of the day, the more we rely on technology, the greater risk potential threats like cyber attacks and outages will pose.
