The man accused of shooting and killing a Harris County Sheriff's Deputy on Wednesday night has been arrested after 24 hours on the run.
Ronnie Palmer was taken into custody without incident Thursday night. He was found at a residence of Ghita Lane in Northeast Houston. In a post to 'X' after midnight, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said that Palmer has been charged with capital murder.
Late Thursday, Palmer assaulted a Little Caesar's employee over a pizza order. He then fled the scene. 28-year-old deputy Fernando Esqueda, who was working undercover, managed to follow Palmer to a neighborhood, where he was gunned down in his car. He died at the scene.
Palmer could face capital murder charges.
