It bills itself as a harmless online discount retailer, but the shopping app Temu might actually be a huge privacy and security risk to consumers. Temu is connected to the Chinese Communist Party, but that's just where the problems start.

David Dunmoyer with the Texas Public Policy Foundation told KTRH, "The Chinese Communist Party, which runs, owns, and operates this app, could theoretically download files onto your devices to completely surveil you."

Dunmoyer says Temu might actually be an even bigger threat to your privacy than the CCP-connected social media app TikTok. He said, "It's flown under the radar in the name of affordable consumer goods, but what they're really trying to do is create digital dossiers on Americans, so they have our personal information."

Dunmoyer says it's time we start investigating Temu more thoroughly, and take action against it.
