A Priority For The Texas GOP - No Democrat Chairs

The next Texas legislative session is still six months away, but Texas GOP delegates have decided on their 8 priorities. One of them is something that should be a no-brainer. Stop awarding powerful chairmanships to Democrats.

"The Texas House does that" said political commentator, Luke Macias, "They give massive amounts of power to Democrats in the form of chairmanships of committees. The Texas Senate does not, and so the Republican Party of Texas has prioritized ending this practice in the Texas House."

So, with that said, will it happen?

"Ending Democrat chairmanships in the Texas House has 5 to 6 times more support than it ever has" Macias told KTRH, "I think the likelihood that we ban Democrat chairs is maybe 75%. We've got a very good shot at it."

Along with an even better shot of replacing House Speaker Dade Phelan, who killed a motion that would have banned Democrat chairs last session.
