There's A Huge Crack On I-10, Headed From Beaumont To Houston

Just in time for the 4th of July holiday week, a huge crack has opened up on Interstate 10 in the Beaumont area and it’s on the Southbound side headed toward Houston.

Traffic is being diverted off I-10 at Washington Boulevard -- that exit is currently closed. And you can’t go under the Washington overpass. All traffic on Washington Boulevard is being sent either North or South on the service road.

Beaumont Police posted:

Due to a significant crack in the roadway, I-10 at Washington (Southbound, toward Houston) is currently closed. Traffic is being diverted off of the highway at the Washington exit. Motorists can travel on the service road, through the Washington intersection and enter the on-ramp to Cardinal Drive (Hwy 69) or the on-ramp to I-10 Westbound just before Walden Road. BPD Officers are directing traffic on the service road. Please drive safely and be alert.
