At every turn since taking office, President Biden has taken steps to directly hurt our own national security. But now he is hampering not just our own, but the security of other nations as well. The Administration announced recently they are moving Ukraine to the top of the list of countries receiving air defense weapons. This move now forces other allies to wait up to 16 months for their infrastructure to arrive.
Mind you, Ukraine is not the only country embroiled in a heated affair. Israel is now fighting a two-front war essentially, with Hamas and now Hezbollah, who have ramped up attacks recently. There is also the ever-looming threat of China invading Taiwan. Multiple U.S. allies are in potential danger now with yet another questionable Biden decision.
Law professor Jeff Addicott says in Israel in particular is where this will cause a stir.
"They have every right to defend themselves...the administration is withholding, micromanaging the war, and not allowing them to finish off the fight," he says.
That coming on the heels of another announcement of over $150 million in more aid to Ukraine.
For months, all we have been told is the end of the Ukraine war is just around the corner, just 'one more offensive.' We have been a month away from the end of the war for the last 12 months. Meanwhile we have our own security interests to focus on.
"We are spending all this money on their border, while ours is wide open...and they do nothing to secure our own border," he says.
The other thing too is this war is seen as a huge defense to world democracy, right on Europe's doorstep. However, you do not see any major countries there chipping in nearly what the U.S. has so far.
As the war goes on too, it just gives more power to Russia and even China. All that as we are essentially in another Cold War with both.
"Biden policies have driven Russia and China, traditionally big enemies, into each other's arms...and China is the real threat," he says.
Instead of a peace agreement or any kind of foreign policy win, we will keep getting that old 'we are one win away' speech from Biden.
"You will not beat them on the battlefield unless you put American soldiers on the ground...and that is not realistic," he says. "Some adults need to take control of our national security policy...instead of these mindless children running the Biden Administration."
Addicott adds that this creates a national security problem for us, as we continue depleting our own resources to help Ukraine.
