It seems like just about every day, there is a new election poll. And while it's great that former president Donald Trump is leading in almost all of them, it's important not to over-rely on the national presidential polls.
"That's fine and good but that's not how elections are decided, we have the electoral college" said political writer, Dr. Brian Joondeph, "My point is that the focus needs to be on, particularly the battleground states."
That is really the key, even though the left likes to focus on the popular vote.
"I tend to look more at what's happening in these battleground states, and is Trump ahead there, because that's ultimately what's going to decide it" Joondeph told KTRH, "Who wins Arizona, who wins Nevada, who wins Georgia, who wins Pennsylvania, etc."
Donald Trump continues to lead Joe Biden in those 7 swing states, and that's really where the focus needs to be as we move closer to November.
"We have the electoral college, meaning that the presidential election is 50 separate state elections, so it's really a contest of 50 state elections rather than one national election" noted Joondeph.
