More violent crime heading into the weekend, as a Harris County Precinct 4 constable deputy was shot by a suspect who robbed two Academy stores with an AR-15.
The deputy was hospitalized after the shooting which happened in the Klein area.
Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Hermann said on social media, "Please pray for our Deputy Constable."
According to reports, the suspect led authorities on a chase to a house on Slashwood. The deputy was then ambushed and shot, before the suspect ran into the house.
Officials said the house was surrounded and the suspect was taken into custody after a brief standoff.
