Ken Paxton Asks Texas Supreme Court to Review Lawfare Against Him

The Office of the Attorney General has petitioned the Texas Supreme Court to review a decision by the Fifth Court of Appeals that allowed the State Bar of Texas to sanction AG Ken Paxton and his First Assistant AG Brent Webster.

The sanctions came as a result of Paxton's lawsuit that raised concerns about unconstitutional conduct by other states during the 2020 presidential election. Paxton says that the State Bar's attempt to sanction him is a violation of the Texas Constitution Separation of Powers Clause, and the Court of Appeals shouldn't have allowed it to go forward.

Just last month, a coalition of seventeen different attorneys general also filed a brief in support of AG Paxton. You can read the full filing here.
