The border crisis keeps getting worse, and it's beginning to take a toll on the people who signed up to protect it but now just can't do their jobs. As morale continues to drop, more and more agents are retiring early or just quitting altogether.
Former acting ICE director Tom Homan told KTRH that thanks to Biden's policies, these agents now feel more like travel agents than border patrol agents. He said, "People get smuggled to the United States, they want to go to Chicago. We arrest them, and what do we do? We process them and take them to an airport, or give them to an NGO, so they can fly to Chicago at taxpayers' expense."
Homan says this isn't what the border patrol agents were trained to do, and it's not securing the border. He says that this is why, despite massive hiring bonuses, CBP still hasn't been able to reach the level of recruits that they need.
