Michael Cohen remains on the witness stand for cross examination but if you believe his former lawyer, he may have more legal trouble coming.
According to testimony given to the congressional committee on the weaponization of government on Wednesday, Cohen may have perjured himself again during his testimony against Trump. Cohen's former lawyer Robert Costello, who advised Cohen when he was hit with federal charges in 2018, told Congress that Cohen said Trump had no knowledge of the payments made to Stormy Daniels.
Costello told Congress that Cohen thought Trump would make him Attorney General or Chief of Staff. Costello then said, "Cohen then explained that, for that reason, he negotiated the sum of $130,000 in exchange for the NDA. When asked if Trump had any knowledge of this, Cohen told me no. When asked whether Cohen got the $130,000 from Trump or any Trump entity or friend, Cohen again said no." This testimony to Congress, which is under oath, is directly contradictory to Cohen's testimony in the Manhattan hush money trial.
Costello talked with Fox News earlier. You can watch that interview below.
