One person has died after a stolen 18-wheeler was driven into a DPS office in Brenham on Friday. The driver will have an appearance in court this weekend.
Several others remain hospitalized, some with serious injuries.
Police say 42-year old Clenard Parker of Chapel Hill, Texas, was spotted in the stolen truck. As he fled, he turned the rig into the building on Highway 290, and slammed into it.
Parker has been arrested and is in the Washington County jail.
Spokesmen confirm that Parker was told on Thursday at that office that he was not eligible to renew his commercial drivers license.
Three of those hurt were flown to hospitals, three others were taken to a hospital by ambulance, and eight people were treated for injuries at the scene.
