Minority voters have always been a stronghold for the Democratic Party, but according to recent trends and polls, that might change in 2024. Trump and the GOP as a whole have been gaining significant ground with black voters, but will it be enough to swing the 2024 election?

Political consultant Luke Macias told KTRH, "The reality is that we have seen people like Donald Trump have more appeal to black voters than traditional moderate Republicans have had."

While they aren't breaking away from the Democratic Party in as extreme numbers as Hispanic voters have been, Macias says it's still a strong pull. And every percentage point that Trump is able to take from Biden is another roadblock on Biden's path to reelection.

Macias also said that black voters are tired of broken promises, which is why, despite growing up in a Democratic household, many black voters are deciding to switch sides.
