Trial For The Last Remaining Harris County Election Contest Starts Today

After multiple delays, the trial for the last remaining Harris County election contest from the 2022 elections, is finally set to start today.

"Incumbent judge DaSean Jones, a Democrat, faced a challenge from Republican Tami Pierce" said Holly Hansen, reporter with The Texan, "And the margin between the two is just 128 votes."
Which is why, of the 21 election lawsuits filed against Harris County, this was the lone case to make it through. The judge dismissed the other cases, but allowed this one to proceed, along with a stern message, on how Harris County deliberately violated Texas election laws.

"That the county had not conducted the election properly" Hansen told KTRH, "And that judge did find that the Elections Administrator (Clifford Tatum) did violate the law."

When all is said and done, there's a very good chance this case will end up with the holding of a new election. In the meantime, the Democrat DaSean Jones is running for a spot on the Texas Supreme Court.
