The Biden administration is now warning that America's water systems, as well as other critical infrastructure, could be at risk of cyber attacks. The warning comes in the form of a letter sent from Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Michael Regan and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan to governors.

The letter warns that adversarial countries like China, Russia, and even Iran could launch cyber attacks against infrastructure systems here in the U.S. University of Houston professor Chris Bronk says that we have seen this sort of thing before.

Bronk cited an instance where the City of South Houston's water plant was compromised by a Romanian hacker, in response to a Biden administration claim that American water systems were unhackable. He said, "They're real. This happens."

Bronk did say that we have plans and contingencies in place for these hacks, but we need to spend the time and money to make sure that they are kept up to date and well-practiced.
