Democrats haven’t won a statewide race in Texas since the 1990’s, but that has never stopped them from using the state for its deep pockets. President Joe Biden is no different.

The President is in Houston today on a fundraising jaunt. This follows two private fundraisers he attended in Dallas last night. There are no public events in his schedule while he is in the city.

The President won’t be here long, as he is set to leave for Washington shortly after 2 o’clock this afternoon.

Biden visited another border state yesterday in Arizona, and made a public appearance there, telling Latino voters in that battleground state that he needed them “badly.”

The trip to Texas is different. Biden lost to then President Donald Trump by 600,000 votes.

Both parties have used Texas as a cash register.

In 2020, Texas donors gave more than $108 million to the presidential campaigns. Only New York with $141 million and California with $290 million gave more.

Trump raised $59 million from Texas compared to $32 million for Biden in 2020.
