If there's one thing we have learned over the last three years, it's that Texas will go to extreme lengths to defend its safety and its economy. Led in large part by efforts from Gov. Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton, Texas has since the start of the Biden administration continued to push more and more conservative policies.
Despite the success and widespread support of these policies, the Biden administration and his allies in lower federal courts have pushed back against efforts by Texan leaders to run a safe and economically powerful state.
Daniel Miller, with the Texas Nationalist Movement, thinks there's a clear reason why Texas and the federal administration are at odds. He says, "Texas has a very unique way that it wants to govern itself. And you have a federal administration that continues to push these one-size-fits-none policies."
Miller also said that this was a side effect of a federal government that has become far more bloated than the founding fathers originally intended. He said, "You have an unrelenting agenda that wants to centralize power in that federal bureaucracy in Washington, D.C." He says that Texans know what policies work best for Texas, and we should be the ones making our state-level policies. Not the bureaucrats and lobbyists in Washington.
