Now That Ogg Is Out, What Happens With The Lina Hidalgo Investigation?

With D.A. Kim Ogg on her way out of office, what happens now with the on-going bid rigging and tampering case against Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo?

"I don't expect Kim Ogg to move on any of that, for the remainder of her term" said attorney and legal analyst, Chris Tritico, "And assuming that Sean Teare wins in November, he's already said that he would recuse the DA's office, and bring in a special prosecutor."

So we won't see Kim Ogg go off, before leaving office?

"I just don't expect that anybody's going to be all too fired up about trying those cases before the end of this year, I don't see it happening" noted Tritico.

And that leaves the argument that Lina will be let off the hook, thanks to a Democrat helping a fellow Democrat.

"If the special prosecutor determines that there's probable cause to indict her, that special prosecutor will do that" Tritico told KTRH, "And if Sean Teare was going to just be a Democrat taking care of Democrats, he would just dump it."
We reached out to D.A. Kim Ogg's office for comment, but she was not available.

Sean Teare, who defeated Ogg in the Primary, will face Republican Dan Simons in November.
