Smokehouse Creek Fire in TX Panhandle burns > 1 Million acres 15% contained

The Smokehouse Creek Fire the largest and most destructive wildfire in state history has scorched over a million acres across the Texas panhandle and into Oklahoma since Monday. More than 500 structures have been destroyed and the fire is only about 15 percent contained. The National Weather Service predicting wind gust of 50 miles per hour with Red Flag warnings posted across the Central Plains.

HEB Chairman Charles Butt says the grocery chain is donating one million dollars to wildfire relief efforts.
