Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry say they will send national guard troops to the Texas Border to assist Texas in its Operation Lone Star efforts to exclude illegal immigrants from entering the U.S.
Texas has spent over $10 Billion on its Operation Lone Star to date.
Louisiana is the latest state planning to send National Guard soldiers to the Mexican border. Republican Governor Jeff Landry says he plans to deploy 150 soldiers in three separate month-long rotations beginning in March. Louisiana troops will carry out operations similar to what they'd do if they were assisting with disaster recovery. They won't detain any illegals they encounter, but they will notify local law enforcement.
