The two-tiered justice system in the U.S. is alive and well.
As expected, Special Counsel Robert Hur announced that Joe Biden will not face any charges for the improper handling of classified documents. Different story for Donald Trump, who is being charged.
The investigation focused on documents related to Biden's time as vice president. Members of Biden's legal team found classified papers at the office of Biden's Washington think tank and his home in Wilmington, Delaware.
Hur has been investigating Biden’s improper retention of classified records since last year. Those records included classified documents about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan, among other records related to national security and foreign policy which Hur said implicated "sensitive intelligence sources and methods."
"We conclude that no criminal charges are warranted in this matter," the report states. "We would reach the same conclusion even if the Department of Justice policy did not foreclose criminal charges against a sitting president."
While Biden faces no charges in this case, the DOJ is taking former President Donald Trump to trial for documents found at his residence in Mar-A-Lago.
The good news for Trump, the Special Counsel report did have a lot of bad items for Biden, that we will hear about on the campaign trail.
This is a developing story.
